Titicaca Lake & Sun Island

We will pick you up from your hotel between 07:00 and 07:30 am (from hotels in the center of the city) and you will begin your trip to the Titicaca Lake, you will travel through the Altiplano (High Plateau). After a 2-hours' trip you will arrive to the narrower section of the lake: The Strait of Tiquina, you will cross it in a rudimentary local ferry along with local people.

Arrival to the town of Copacabana at 12:00 pm to have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch you will get on board of a public boat to travel through the Titicaca Lake, along with other tourists and town people, to the Sun Island. In Sun Island you will visit Yumani, there you will visit “Escalinata Del Inca” (Inca’s stairs) which leads you to the “Fuente de las 3 aguas” (the Fountain of the 3 Watersheds), the tradition dictates that if you drink from its water you can have eternal life.

You will have some time to take pictures of the lake and the astonishing Royal Range of the Andes and you will go back to the boat to return to Copacabana where will spend the night.

In the morning you will make a visit to the town of Copacabana, enriched by the combination of the Andean and the Christian points of view, you will visit the religious sanctuary in honor of Candelaria Madonna, an important pilgrimage site for Bolivians. Finally walk by the town and its handicraft stores.

Bus to La Paz at 13:00, arrival to La Paz´s bus station at 17:00 approximately, where your transportation will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel.
