Documents required for foreigners to enter Brazil
– To enter the country you need a valid passport and a duly completed entry and exit card. This card must be presented upon entry into Brazil and kept until the moment of departure, when it will be collected by the Federal Police. It is provided by airlines or is available at checkpoints.
– Foreigners residing in Brazil, whether temporarily or permanently, in addition to their passport, must present a foreigner’s identity card or the regularization request protocol issued by the Federal Police.
– Foreigners from MERCOSUR countries, in addition to a passport, are required to provide identification documents. When entering Brazil for the purposes of tourism, business, sports and creative activities, registration with the Federal Police or the issuance of a foreigner’s identity card are not required.
– Foreigners traveling to Brazil for tourism normally need to obtain a visa before entering the country. This requirement is based on the principle of reciprocity of treatment and applies to nationals of countries that require a visa from Brazilians to enter their territories. Countries that do not require tourist visas from Brazilians normally do not require a visa to enter Brazil.

– Take with you your identification documents, with personal contact information, blood type, if you have any illness such as allergies, diabetes or others that require particular attention.

The national currency is the Brazilian Real (R$).
The US dollar is accepted by some businesses, at the current exchange rate. Euros (€) must be exchanged for Brazilian Real or US dollars, at the current exchange rate.
Money exchange: Travelers can exchange euros, dollars, and other foreign currencies at authorized exchange houses, hotels, and banks. Changing money in the street is not recommended.
ATMs: Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are located in banks, shopping malls, and stores in Brazil’s main cities. They give Brazilian Real and US dollars and accept different types of cards (Visa, American Express, and MasterCard).
No vaccinations are mandatory for entering the country.
However, if you are planning to travel to the Brazilian Amazon or other remote regions, vaccinations are recommended:
